My Roots Moment

I'm old enough to have watched roots when it the miniseries premiered in 1977. I think my interest in tracing one's genealogy started then.

I love this picture. I'm reminded of a scene in Roots where Toby/Kunte Kinte hods his baby in his arms and raises her up to the sky. A symbolic linking of the generations.

**Note: Jordan wakes up every night at 4am. This would not be a problem if she followed her daytime pattern of eating and sleeping but Jordan likes attention at 4am. She likes to kick and twist, wiggle, piddle and cuddle from 4-6:00am every day. She kicks a LOT. Not I know what was going on underneath my ribcage those nights when I could not sleep.

Welcome to the World: Jordan Anne Johnson

I made my entry into this world on June 26th at 11:46 pm. There were so many people in the room, it was little confusing. My Mom and Dad were really happy to see me. So happy, I think I saw my Dad cry. A little while later, I met Grandmom and Grandpa Sonnier and Aunt Sandy.

Here I am, just 5 minutes old. Aren't I a cutie???
